His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s present
His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s message on the occasion of his 86th birthday on July 6, 2021, from His Holiness’s Residence, Dharamsala, HP, India.
Now, I’m joust a human being. Many people really show they love to me. And many peolple actually love my smile. In spite of my old age, my face is quite handsome. So many people show me genuine friendship. Now it’s nearly my birthday. I want to express my deep appreciation all my friends who really show me love, respect and trust. I want express my thanks. For myself I can ensure you that for the rest of my life I’m committed serving humanity and work to protect the climate condition. So, since I become a refugee and now settled in India I have taken full advantage of India’s freedom and religious harmony. So, I want to assure you that for the rest of my life I will be fully committed to this work. I really appreciate the India concept of secular values, not dependent on religion, such as honesty, karuna (compassion) and aimsha (non violence). So, my dear friends, on my birthday this is my gift. So, please keep in your mind. I myself am committed to non violence and compassion until my death. So, this is my offering to my friends. So, I hope that my friends also keep non violence and compassion for the rest of your life. So, firstly this is like a report about my life. And secondly all my human brothers and sisters should keep these two, non violence and compassion, until your death. Thank you. https://www.dalailama.com/videos/86th-birthday-message
